What can you do with some glue, gutter pipe, an old trainer wing and a rusty motor? Why not find out at the annual Ute R/C Association Junkyard War? It doesn't matter if you are a skilled builder or a rank amateur: the winner is the team who's plane flies the best. In years past, we've had a difficult time getting the planes in the air in time. Let's change that trend and see what we can create!

Bring our own stuff?
Does anybody know if we should bring our own miscellaneous crap to try to get a bird into the air, or will it be provided?
Are we even having it this
Are we even having it this year?
Apparently not...
Well, I showed up, hopeful, as did a number of other club members. Mike M., Rick, Mike Passey, Matt Jenkins, Wade, Rahl, Marv, and I showed up. I think Matt, Mike M., and I were the only ones hoping the JW was still on. Alas. Wade said there just hadn't been enough interest at the club meeting before this past one, so it got canceled.
I plan on showing up for an hour or two to fly in the morning again (hey, gotta use my time with no family at home wisely, you know!), but not a marathon like today :)
Junk yard wars?????
I don't recall hearing anything other than talk about having a junk yard war. I did not know there was actually anything scheduled and I don't recall anything being said at a meeting confirming a date and time when it was and what anyone was supposed to bring. I have been to most meetings and just did not hear of any confirmation so I did not plan on this event.
Date & Time
Mike gave me a list of scheduled events in January, and I dropped 'em all into the calendar of the web site during the January meeting. Wade told me this morning that there were a couple of errors in some which had not been updated since January, particularly on the Expo page since we've changed that one a lot since it was first planned last year.
But yeah, there didn't seem to any interest or discussion... except among those who've seen it scheduled on the web site for months and months :) I was hoping to participate this year, and had the whole day open. Alas, I just flew the pants off of all my aircraft instead!
And before you ask, no, normally I don't follow people around while they are using the site like today, I'm updating links, checking for errors, and making a few updates. You just happen to be on at the same time.
