6exa & Hitec Eclipse 7
I have an old Futaba 6EXA on channel 13. The computer seems to be a little wonky, though -- it mis-reads control inputs -- so it needs to be sent to Futaba for a checkout (about $35-$40). I'd let this one go for free if you swung by and picked it up, or arranged the exchange at a club meeting. I picked it up for $80 four years ago.
I also have a used Hitec Eclipse 7 with the potentiometer out on the elevator gimbal. It, too, needs to be sent back for repair. Nothing else wrong with it, though. Great battery, only 2 seasons old, and I have the Spectra module installed so that you can choose any channel on the 72MHz spectrum. I paid $300 new for the Eclipse 7 + Spectra Module two years ago.
I have several Channel 13 receivers as well. Give me a call and let's talk turkey, it could be a great start for you. I'm in the club roster. You could also send me a Private Message via this forum, or email me at .
Unfortunately, I've converted to Spektrum, so none of this is useful for me anymore unless I send those transmitters off for repair. And it's really not worth the $50 each to me to fix them, since I was disappointed with 72MHz gear. Where I used to live -- Tooele City -- is really noisy around 72MHz, and even double-conversion receivers would glitch on me due to bizarre interference from the nearby Army base. Since I moved to Spektrum, I have not had a single glitch! However, I have had a total lockout due to a low battery which destroyed an expensive helicopter...
Anyway, let me know if you have an interest. The Spectra module plus a synthesized receiver means that you can pick an arbitrary channel to fly on as necessary, making it nearly as convenient as Spektrum as far as not worrying much about channel conflicts. And the fact is, the older 72MHz gear is much less battery-hungry than Spektrum gear, meaning it handles low-battery conditions well that would cause you to crash your plane on 2.4GHz.
