We have a new application and renewal form for 2007. Dues now reflect club field maintenance costs, and the fact we hadn't updated dues for years. You can either mail or bring your completed form, fee, and field key (if you have one) to any club meeting.
If you are looking for something fun and enriching to do this Saturday there is a "Honor the Veterans Pow Wow" taking place at the Hill Aerospace Museum. This is sponsored by the 75 ABW Special Observance Program and the American Indian/Alaskan Native Association. There are two sessions. The first begins at 11 and ends around 1:30 and the second is at 2:30 and will end around 5:00. I believe the cost to be around $5 per family.
Thanks to all those that showed up for the clean up day on the 14th. You guys did a great job. The property is looking very good.
Evan and Scott spent most of the day leveling the field and I understand that Randy H. spent more time out there making a runway. It is turning out to be a very nice site. I hope you all enjoy it and benefit from the hard work that is going into it. It is going to be a field that you can be proud of and hopefully will be able to enjoy for at least 10 years.
Some of us are going to go out this next weekend. Anyone who whishes to come and join in, would be appreciated. This will be a low key work day.
The club members at Tuesday’s meeting voted to do another field clean up this Saturday Oct 14th . If you get this in time, Please send out a notice to those that may have not been in the meeting. Start time is 9:00 at the main gate. Water, drinks and lunch will be provided
I spoke with Bill down at R/C Evolution in Tooele regarding our new flying field. Tons of people drive past our field every day (about 30,000 vehicles or so), and seeing people flying has, according to Bill, generated a lot of interest. Because it's so close to a major intersection, lots of people are driving up to the gate when they see us flying there.
The part which confuses people is the locked gate.
This is a copy-and-paste of Paul Bradshaw's famous "E-Power Set-ups That Work" document which he distributed at the 2006 electric fly-in. Many of you have seen Paul's awesome flyers out at Grantsville #2. Paul's an excellent flyer, and I still drool over his e-powered Hangar 9 Miss America!
Without further ado, here it is:
